RAMADAN
Sharjah, UAE: Sharjah Holding PJSC – a strategic partnership between Majid Al Futtaim Properties and Sharjah Asset Management – is welcoming the Holy Month by donating two tons of essential food items to families in need. Co-led by Al Zahia and Sharjah Charity International, the initiative will benefit the vulnerable families across Sharjah whose lives have been disrupted by the current pandemic.

The campaign, known as Stay at Home and launched in line with government directives, sees the community come together alongside Sharjah Charity International volunteers to provide and distribute food to the homes of eligible families to help ensure they avoid exposure to others.

Abdullah Sultan Bin Khadim, Executive Director at Sharjah Charity International, extended his appreciation and gratitude to Al Zahia, stating: “This initiative targets a large segment of those in need, its success largely attributed to organisations such as Al Zahia for channelling the ever-growing generosity of the UAE community. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Al Zahia while serving as an example of ways organisations can contribute to the greater good of society.”

Shadi Al Azzeh, Al Zahia Project Head at Majid Al Futtaim Properties said: “Al Zahia is considered one of the most important development projects in Sharjah, and we are proud to have 800 families within our community, forming a vital part of the emirate’s fabric. We believe that it is our duty to provide support to the wider community surrounding us as a practical translation of the giving back value during the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative is a true representation of Al Zahia’s efforts to serve the community and those in need, while collaborating with respected organisations such as Majid Al Futtaim Retail represented by Carrefour, and Sharjah Charity International.”

Walid Al Hashimi, Chief Executive Officer at Sharjah Holding said: “Sharjah has always been known for its tight-knit, community-focused nature. The residents here know their neighbours and care about their wellbeing, just as the kind and cordial cultural values of the UAE. That’s the reason behind the success of this new initiative in Sharjah. The contributions made to these donations are essential and will go a long way toward helping our fellow Sharjah residents in need during what is a particularly testing time for us all.”
